What informations we collect

  • The information you share through Helpilepsy (eg your email, your gender, your crises, your treatments, your messages in our app, etc.)
  • The information we collect when you use helpilepsy (eg how you interact with the app)
  • If you have given your explicit consent (not this one), the information we collect via sensors (eg your quality of sleep)

What purposes we collect this information

  • To provide you our services (eg your epilepsy reports)
  • To improve and maintain our services (eg detect bugues in the app)
  • To communicate with you about helpilepsy (eg to help you use the app correctly)
  • For scientific research and for statistical purposes (eg understanding which side effects are most common)

Who has access to this information

To your personal data (= non-anonymized or non-pseudonymised information):

  • A well-defined part of the helpilepsy trust team
  • Some trusted subcontractors who can not use your data for their purposes

Your personally identifiable information is therefore not sold to anyone

To anonymized data (= third parties will not be able to link this data to you):

  • This data may be provided to third-party organizations after case-by-case validation of their anonymisation.

What do you control?

  • You remain master of your information.
  • You can request the deletion of your personal data at any time. Just send us an email at privacy@helpilepsy.com
  • You can request a file with all your data.

What we do to protect your data

  • All communication is encrypted.
  • Your information is kept in an AWS secure server in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • We have internal procedures to ensure that our IT infrastructure is secure and that our team manages your information responsibly.

Other things to know

  • Helpilepsy is currently not a medical device.
  • You do not have to install the app and your refusal to install it does not affect the treatment of your doctor or the quality of this treatment.
