What informations we collect

  • The information you share through Helpilepsy (eg your email, your gender, your crises, your treatments, your messages in our app, etc.)
  • The information we collect when you use helpilepsy (eg how you interact with the app)
  • If you have given your explicit consent (not this one), the information we collect via sensors (eg your quality of sleep)

What purposes we collect this information

  • To provide you our services (eg your epilepsy reports)
  • To improve and maintain our services (eg detect bugues in the app)
  • To communicate with you about helpilepsy (eg to help you use the app correctly)
  • For scientific research and for statistical purposes (eg understanding which side effects are most common)

Who has access to this information

To your personal data (= non-anonymized or non-pseudonymised information):

  • A well-defined part of the helpilepsy trust team
  • Some trusted subcontractors who can not use your data for their purposes
  • If you chose so, your physician to help him monitor your health and keep your medical records up to date

Your personally identifiable information is not sold to anyone

To the anonymized information (= third parties won’t be able to trace it back to you):

  • This information might be provided to third parties, upon case-by-case validation of the anonymization.

What do you control?

  • You remain master of your information.
  • You can request the deletion of your personal data at any time. Just send us an email at privacy@helpilepsy.com
  • You can request a file with all your data.

What we do to protect your data

  • All communication is encrypted.
  • Your information is kept in an AWS secure server in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • We have internal procedures to ensure that our IT infrastructure is secure and that our team manages your information responsibly.

Other things to know

  • The Epione platform, of which the Helpilepsy app is a part is a medical device class I under EU/MDD 93/42/EEC.
  • You are not obliged to install the application and your refusal to install the application does not have any impact on the treatment by your physician or the quality of such treatment.
  • After 10 years of inactivity, we will delete your personal data. If you’re not using Helpilepsy anymore, we’ll contact you every 3 years (at least) to ask if you still wish us to keep your data.
  • Your Helpilepsy data is not under the control of your physician or your hospital. They are, like you, partners and users of Helpilepsy.
